A September Celebration: Nadine & Gordon’s Wedding at Schivas Steading

Nestled in the Aberdeenshire countryside, Schivas Steading in Ellon was the perfect setting for Nadine and Gordon’s unforgettable wedding day. Once a traditional farm steading, the venue has been beautifully transformed—blending rustic charm with modern elegance. It’s the kind of place where old stone walls meet soft candlelight, and timeless romance finds a truly stunning backdrop.

Guests were welcomed with an impressive grazing table reception, setting the tone for a relaxed and joyful celebration. The ceremony took place on the first level of the steading, an intimate and light-filled space full of character and charm.

Dinner followed on the upper level—where guests enjoyed a carefully curated menu by our team at Thistle Catering Services:

Mains

• Roasted Free Range Chicken with Oatmeal Stuffing & Rich Roasting Gravy
• 10hr Slow Cooked Shoulder of Lamb with Mint Crushed Pea
• Butternut Squash, Spinach & Wild Mushroom Wellington (V)

Dessert

• Classic Sticky Toffee Pudding

As night fell, the celebrations continued with an evening Tex Mex buffet station, wedding cake, teas, and of course—plenty of dancing to end a perfect day.
